[ARCHIVED] Royal Oak Senior Center Launches Renovation Project

Royal Oak Senior Center

Royal Oak's Mahany Meininger Senior Center will close on June 25, 2025, for renovations and repairs.

At their June 23 meeting, City Commission approved a $564,000 renovation project that will fund a number of essential upgrades, including renovated bathrooms; new flooring, ceiling tiles, and paint throughout; and a new generator and electrical updates.

The result will be a better, brighter facility from which to serve our older-adult community.

While the Center is closed, staff are relocated to the Royal Oak Public Library to continue to serve you throughout the project.

Transportation and Travel

Services will continue as usual.

Older-Adult Support Programs

Royal Oak Senior Essential Services (ROSES) and Adjacent Generational Exchange (AGE) counseling and support programs will continue as usual.

Programs and Activities

If you're registered for a program, staff will be in touch to update you. We're working hard to find alternative locations for as many programs as possible to minimize impact on services.

The renovation is expected to be completed by August 18. If you have questions about the Center or its programs or services, please contact Senior Center Coordinator Yolanda Botello McClain at 248-709-4763 or yolandab@romi.gov

Thank you for your patience as we work to create an improved facility for all.
