Construction Project Updates

CAP1935 Road Reconstruction Improvements

Contractor: FDM Contracting Inc.


The week of October 14th, the contractor will continue working on pavement restoration on the west side of Benjamin Ave and also work on landscape restoration.

On W. Houstonia Ave, the contractor plans to place a rejuvenating agent on the new asphalt to help extend the life of the pavement. 'No Parking' signs will be placed along the street the day beforehand.

Minor punch list items and restoration work will be performed on the other project streets.

CAP1905 Concrete Pavement Repairs

Contractor: Galui Construction Inc.


The contractor is mostly complete with all the project streets. There are a few remaining patches and punch list work to be completed the week of October 14th.

The city was able to budget adding a few more streets to the project and the contractor will complete pavement repairs on these streets over the next few weeks:

  • Tonawanda     (Normandy to Massoit)
  • Massoit           (Robinwood to Elmwood)
  • Robinwood     (Nakota to Groveland)
  • Groveland      (Nakota to Robinwood)

Contractor: AJAX Paving Industries Inc


Only minor punch list items and landscape restoration work remains for this project.

CAP1910 Water Main Improvements

Contractor: FDM Contracting Inc.


On S. Blair Street, the contractor will finish preparing the roadway for new pavement the week of October 14th. The contractor plans to begin paving the roadway towards the end of the week. Residents will receive a door hanger in advance so they can move their vehicles off the street.

BLAIR ST - TRASH & RECYCLING PICKUP: Trucks will not be able to access the street on OCTOBER 23RD. If desired, residents can place containers at the nearest street corner for pick up and retrieve containers at the end of the day. Please be sure to mark containers with your address.

On E. Harrison Ave, the contractor will begin water main connections on the east side of the railroad. Property owners who will be affected by shut offs will receive a door hanger notice the day beforehand with details.

Minor pavement restoration work will occur on Normandy west of Coolidge, Rockingham and Albert.

CAP1907 Normandy Road Improvements

Greenfield Road to Woodward Avenue
Contractor: AJAX Paving Industries


The week of October 14th, concrete restoration of sidewalk ramps continues on Normandy Road at various intersections. The contractor also plans to pave the final layer of asphalt on the roadway this week.

Once all pavement work is complete, lawn restoration will begin.
Please note that construction schedules are tentative, and may change based on weather delays, subcontractors or substantial field modifications. These updates are based on the information currently available.
