Construction Project Updates


Residents on affected streets were mailed construction notices in the Spring with detailed information on the project.

The city realizes construction will be an inconvenience and all efforts to expedite the work will be utilized to minimize traffic conflicts and access to various properties abutting the project. If you have questions you can contact the Engineering Division at 248.246.3260.

CAP1935 Road Reconstruction Improvements

Contractor: FDM Contracting Inc.


The week of October 7th, the contractor will be performing pavement restoration on the west side of Benjamin Ave and also work on landscape restoration.

On W. Houstonia Ave, the contractor plans to put the final layer of asphalt down in the beginning of the week and finish landscape restoration.

Minor punch list items and restoration work will be performed on the other project streets.

CAP1905 Concrete Pavement Repairs

Contractor: Galui Construction Inc.


The contractor is mostly complete with all the project streets. There are a few remaining patches and punch list work to be completed the week of October 7th.

CAP1915 Asphalt Resurfacing

Contractor: AJAX Paving Industries Inc


Only minor punch list items and landscape restoration work remains for this project.

CAP1910 Water Main Improvements

Contractor: FDM Contracting Inc.


The week of October 7th, the contractor will be preparing the roadway for new pavement on S. Blair St. The new water main connections and service transfers are complete.

On E. Harrison Ave, the contractor will continue with pavement removals and water main installation between S. Main St. and the rail road crossing.

The contractor will be completing restoration work on Albert, Judson and Rockingham.

CAP1907 Normandy Road Improvements

Greenfield Road to Woodward Avenue

The week of October 7th, concrete work continues on Normandy Road at various intersections, islands and sidewalk ramps.

Residents on Normandy Road should use Parkway Ave from the north as their access point for the next 7 days, as several intersections are temporarily closed while the new pavement cures.
Please note that construction schedules are tentative, and may change based on weather delays, subcontractors or substantial field modifications. These updates are based on the information currently available.
