Construction Project Updates

Residents on affected streets were mailed construction notices in the Spring with detailed information on the project.

The city realizes construction will be an inconvenience and all efforts to expedite the work will be utilized to minimize traffic conflicts and access to various properties abutting the project. If you have questions you can contact the Engineering Division at 248.246.3260.

CAP1908/09 14 Mile Road Resurfacing Improvements

Greenfield Road to Crooks Road

SOCWA Contractor: Verdeterre Contracting, Inc.

City Contractor: Pamar Enterprises, Inc

This project includes work in conjunction with the South Oakland County Water Authority, Michigan Department of Transportation and the Road Commission for Oakland County.

14 Mile Road will be under construction for most of the 2019 construction season, with traffic often limited to one lane in each direction. The week of June 3rd, SOCWA's contractor will finish working on restoration.

The city's contractor has finished the water main section between Woodward Ave and Cooper Ave and will begin working on pavement restoration the week of June 3rd.

The contractor also plans to begin transferring water services and make the final connections for the water main section from Mankato Ave to east of Coolidge Hwy. Residents will be notified the day beforehand via door hanger if they will be affected by any required water shut-offs.

CAP1935 Road Reconstruction Improvements

Contractor: FDM Contracting Inc.

The week of June 3rd, the city's contractor will pour another section of the north side of Nakota Road and continue preparing other sections for new pavement.

On Fernlee Avenue the contractor plans to have the rest of the pavement poured and that section will be barricaded while the concrete cures.

The contractor also plans to begin transferring water services to the new water main on W. Houstonia Ave the week of June 3rd. Residents will be notified the day beforehand via door hanger if they will be affected by any required water shut-offs.

No work is scheduled for the other project streets the week of June 3rd.

CAP1905 Concrete Pavement Repairs

Contractor: Galui Construction Inc.

The contractor tentatively plans to begin pavement removals on the project streets the week of June 3rd, beginning on Lexington Blvd. If driveway access will be affected, residents will receive a notice via door hanger the day beforehand. The contractor will only work on one side of the lane at a time, to maintain access for residents.

CAP1915 Asphalt Resurfacing

Contractor: AJAX Paving Industries Inc

The week of June 3rd, the contractor plans to adjust drainage structures on the Phase 1 project streets, to prepare for paving at the end of the week.

On Phase 2 streets, the contractor plans to continue with concrete work on Fernwood Rd, Lockwood Rd and Woodcrest Dr and begin curbing work on Lawndale Dr and Mayfield Dr.

CAP1910 Water Main Improvements

Contractor: FDM Contracting Inc.

The week of June 3rd, the contractor the contractor plans to begin concrete restoration work on Rockingham Rd.

On Judson Ave and Albert Ave, the contractor plans to prepare the roadways for paving.

On Normandy Road, the contractor will continue with water main installation work.
