Construction Project Updates

CAP2007 Gardenia Avenue Improvements

East of Main Street to Campbell Road

Contractor: AJAX Paving Industries, Inc.

The city will be resurfacing Gardenia Avenue from just east of Main Street (east of Frentz & Sons Hardware) to Campbell Road. Construction is scheduled to be completed by mid-October 2018. The city has closed Gardenia Avenue to thru-traffic and is prohibiting side street traffic from entering Gardenia between Main Street and Campbell Road as shown on the map below.

The contractor is working to adjust drainage structures and is planning to place the top layer of asphalt during the week of October 8th, likely towards the end of the week. The contractor will be installing a layer of white pavement fabric between the bottom and top layers of asphalt to help prevent pavement cracking and to extend the pavement life.

CAP1806 S. Campbell Road Resurfacing

10 Mile Road to 11 Mile Road

Contractor: Iafrate Construction Company

The west half of S. Campbell Road is closed for second phase of construction, and traffic is currently shifted to the east side of the road. One lane is open in each direction. The following left turns are not allowed during this phase of construction:

• Northbound and southbound Campbell Road at 11 Mile Road
• Eastbound Lincoln Avenue at S. Campbell Road
• Northbound and southbound Campbell Road at Lincoln Avenue

The contractor will begin pavement and driveway removals starting at Lincoln Avenue and working toward 11 Mile Road. This will be followed by roadway grading, also starting at Lincoln Avenue and working toward 11 Mile Road.

CAP1505 Concrete Street Repairs

Contractor: Galui Construction Company, Inc.

The contractor is planning to pour the first halves of all streets east of Arlington and north of Normandy during the week of October 8th. Work on the second halves of the streets will begin approximately one week after the concrete is poured. The contractor is working to back-fill and place seed in disturbed lawn areas on the streets previously poured.
