Construction Project Updates

The city realizes construction will be an inconvenience and all efforts to expedite the work will be utilized to minimize traffic conflicts and access to various properties abutting the project. If you have questions you can contact the Engineering Division at 248.246.3260.

CAP1806 S. Campbell Road Resurfacing

10 Mile Road to 11 Mile Road

Contractor: Iafrate Construction Company

The east half of S. Campbell Road will remain closed for several weeks during the first phase of construction, and traffic is currently shifted to the west side of the road.  One lane is open in each direction.  The following left turns are not allowed during this phase of construction:

• Northbound and southbound Campbell Road at 11 Mile Road.
• Northbound and southbound Campbell Road at Lincoln Avenue.
• Westbound Lincoln Avenue at S. Campbell Road.

The contractor will be installing the new curbing and pavement base repairs along the east side of the road starting on July 5th and extending through next week.   Residents on the east side of the road will receive 24-hour notice via a door hanger when their driveway will no longer be accessible for vehicles.  There may be greater delays for traffic traveling on S. Campbell Road during concrete placement operations.

CAP1808 N. Main Street Resurfacing

11 Mile Road to Gardenia Avenue

Contractor: Pro-Line Asphalt Paving Corp.

Traffic is currently shifted to the west side of N. Main Street, with one lane open in each direction.  Left turns are prohibited at Catalpa/Gardenia and at 11 Mile Road for vehicles traveling north and south.

The contractor plans to mill the roadway starting on July 9^th and will adjust drainage structures throughout the week. Paving is tentatively planned for the end of the week or early the following week. 
 
This project is scheduled to be completed by the end of July.

CAP1815 Asphalt Resurfacing Improvements

Contractor: AJAX Paving Industries, Inc.

The project is divided into three phases:

Phases 1 & 2: The contractor is still working to complete restoration on these streets.  The contractor is holding off on placing seed until cooler temperatures return.
 
Phase 3: Paving is scheduled for July 9th and July 10th.  Residents will be able to access their driveways, but there will be delays for access during paving operations.

CAP1835 Road Reconstruction Improvements

Contractor: Hard Rock Concrete, Inc.

Woodland Avenue - Webster Road to Glenwood Road

The contractor plans to replace some curbing at Webster Road handicap ramps, and the sidewalk for the ramps is scheduled to be installed during the week of July 9th. 

Bonnie View Drive - Lloyd Avenue to Northwood Boulevard

Work on this street is complete except for restoration.

Yorba Linda Boulevard - Fairlawn Avenue to Springer Avenue

The contractor plans to replace concrete at the southeast corner of Fairmont Avenue and remaining sidewalk flags on Friday July 6th.  Plantings for the rain garden will not be installed until after Labor Day.

Parkway Drive - Normandy Road to Woodward Avenue

Linwood Avenue - Webster Road to Glenwood Road

The contractor plans to place concrete for the intersections at Webster Road and Glenwood Road on Friday July 7th.  Linwood will likely remain closed until Wednesday July 11th while the concrete cures.  Driveway approaches are tentatively planned for the same week. Please do not move barricades or drive on new concrete until the barricades are removed by the contractor.

Garbage and recycling: Garbage trucks will not be able to access the street on Monday July 9th. If desired, residents may drop off garbage and recycling receptacles at the corners of Webster or Glenwood before 7:00 a.m. and pick them up later in the day. The city recommends that residents have their address markings on all trash and recycling containers.

Delaware Avenue - E. Kenilworth Avenue to E. Harrison Avenue

CAP1505 Concrete Street Repairs

Contractor: Galui Construction Company, Inc.

The contractor has started saw-cutting the project streets.  Pavement removals and concrete pavement placement are scheduled for the week of July 16th.  

CAP1822 Non-Motorized Improvements

Contractor: Warren Contractors & Development, Inc.

The contractor plans to begin demolition work for pedestrian islands in the middle of the road on S. Washington Avenue during the week of July 9th.  There will be two minor detours on S. Washington Avenue for approximately two weeks:

• Southbound traffic on S. Washington between 11 Mile Road and W. Second Street will be detoured to S. Main Street. 
• Northbound traffic on S. Washington between W. Farnum Avenue and Willis Avenue will be detoured to N. Main Street.
