CAP1806 S. Campbell Road Resurfacing

10 Mile Road to 11 Mile Road

This project has been awarded to Angelo Iafrate Construction Company by the Michigan Department of Transportation.  Lane restrictions are tentatively scheduled to begin the week of June 4th. You can find more information on the project at romi.gov/campbellroad

CAP1808 N. Main Street Resurfacing

11 Mile Road to Gardenia Avenue

Contractor: Pro-Line Asphalt Paving Corp.

Traffic has been shifted to the east side of N. main Street, with one lane open in each direction.  Left turns are prohibited at Catalpa/Gardenia and at 11 Mile Road for vehicles traveling north and south. Most of the sidewalk on the west half of the road has been replaced.  The sidewalk on the west side of the road from Farnum to Catalpa is now open to pedestrians; all remaining sidewalk on the west side of the road is expected to be open for pedestrians by Tuesday May 29.

CAP1815 Asphalt Resurfacing Improvements

Contractor: AJAX Paving Industries, Inc.

The project is divided into three phases:

Phase 1 streets: The contractor plans to finish paving the streets with hot mix asphalt right after Memorial Day. Residents will be able to access their driveways, but there will be delays for access during paving operations.  The contractor plans to clean up and restore disturbed grass areas within a couple weeks.
 
Phase 2 streets: The contractor plans to mill off the existing asphalt pavement during the week of May 29th.
 
Phase 3 streets: The contractor is currently planning to start work after the Memorial Day holiday.   

CAP1835 Road Reconstruction Improvements

Contractor: Hard Rock Concrete, Inc.

Woodland Avenue - Webster Road to Glenwood Road

The contractor has closed Woodland Avenue to traffic and is tentatively planning to pave the roadway next Tuesday or Wednesday.
 
Garbage trucks will not be able to access the street on Tuesday May 29th.  If desired, residents may drop off garbage and recycling receptacles at the corners of Webster or Glenwood before 7am and pick them up later in the day.  We recommend that you have address markings on all trash and recycling containers.

The “Run with the Police” run/walk 5k race will take place in this neighborhood on Saturday June 2, 2018.  The Police Department has sent out notices that require all vehicles to be removed from Glenwood Road from 7:30am to 10:00am the morning of the race.

Bonnie View Drive - Lloyd Avenue to Northwood Boulevard

Work on this street is complete with the exception of restoration.

Yorba Linda Boulevard - Fairlawn Avenue to Springer Avenue

During the week of May 29th, the contractor will be transferring each property’s water service to the new water main.  This will require a short water shutoff at each property, approximately 30 minutes to an hour long.  Due to the unknown timing of the temporary shutoffs, the contractor will knock on doors to notify residents before turning off the water.  

It is fairly common for brown or cloudy water to appear after a water main shut off.  While unappealing, it is not dangerous and can be remedied by flushing the water for a few minutes.  To learn more, visit our informational page: https://www.romi.gov/870/Why-Is-My-Water-Cloudy

CAP1505 Concrete Street Repairs

Contractor: Galui Construction Company, Inc.

The contractor will be saw-cutting the project streets in the coming weeks.  Pavement removals and concrete pavement will not begin until mid-June.  

CAP1822 Non-Motorized Improvements

The city will be installing signage and striping for a north-south bike route through the city.  The bike route begins at Washington Avenue and 10 Mile Road, extends north to Euclid Avenue, then east to N. Main Street, and finally north the city limits.  Where there are currently four lanes of traffic, the street will be reduced to a 3-lane roadway, with one lane of traffic in each direction, a center turn lane, and bicycle lanes on each side of the road.  This project is expected to begin in June.
