2018 Project Map

CAP1806 S. Campbell Road Resurfacing

10 Mile Road to 11 Mile Road

This project is in the process of being awarded to Angelo Iafrate Construction Company by the Michigan Department of Transportation.  Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin towards the end of May or early June.

CAP1808 N. Main Street Resurfacing

11 Mile Road to Gardenia Avenue

Contractor: Pro-Line Asphalt Paving Corp.

Traffic has been shifted to the east side of N. main Street, with one lane open in each direction.  Left turns are prohibited at Catalpa/Gardenia and at 11 Mile Road for vehicles traveling north and south.  The contractor has removed sections of sidewalk at handicap ramps on the west half of the road and also some sections of curbing.  Pedestrians should find another route if possible.

CAP1815 Asphalt Resurfacing Improvements

Contractor: AJAX Paving Industries, Inc.

The project is divided into three phases:

CAP1815 Phasing

The contractor plans pave the streets within Phase 1 with hot mix asphalt during the week of May 21st. Residents will be able to access their driveways, but there will be delays for access during paving operations.

The contractor will continue replacing sections of curbing on Phase 2 streets, and tentatively plans to mill off the existing asphalt pavement after the Memorial Day holiday.

The contractor is currently planning to start work on Phase 3 streets after the Memorial Day holiday.

CAP1835 Road Reconstruction Improvements

Contractor: Hard Rock Concrete, Inc.

Informational Presentation: The Engineering Division prepared a presentation to discuss the details of this project.  If you haven’t seen it, you can view the presentation here.

Woodland Avenue - Webster Road to Glenwood Road

The contractor has closed Woodland Avenue to traffic, and will be working on pavement removal, edge-drain installation and road base preparation during the week of May 21st.

Garbage trucks will not be able to access the street on Monday May 21st and Tuesday May 29th.  If desired, residents may drop off garbage and recycling receptacles at the corners of Webster or Glenwood before 7am and pick them up later in the day.  We recommend that you have address markings on all trash and recycling containers.

Bonnie View Drive - Lloyd Avenue to Northwood Boulevard

Work on this street is complete with the exception of restoration.

Yorba Linda Boulevard - Fairlawn Avenue to Springer Avenue

The contractor has completed installation of the water main on Yorba Linda Blvd.  The contractor will be performing pressure testing and bacteria testing of the water main to ensure the water main is safe for public use during the week of May 21st, and there will be very little activity onsite for most of the week.

After all testing is approved, the contractor will connect the new water main pipe to the city’s water system.  The connections typically require the water to be turned off for about four to eight hours, and residents will be notified of any water shutoffs 24-hours in advance with a door hanger.

It is fairly common for brown or cloudy water to appear after a water main shut off.  While unappealing, it is not dangerous and can be remedied by flushing the water for a few minutes.  To learn more, visit our informational page: https://www.romi.gov/870/Why-Is-My-Water-Cloudy

Parkway Drive - Normandy Road to Woodward Avenue

Parkway Drive will be opened at Woodward Avenue.  The contractor will be replacing additional sections of deteriorated pavement between Arlington and Normandy in the next weeks, but the road will remain open to traffic.

Linwood Avenue - Webster Road to Glenwood Road

No work to begin until school is out for the summer.

Delaware Avenue - E. Kenilworth Avenue to E. Harrison Avenue

No work yet; the contractor tentatively plans to begin the work in late June.

CAP1505 Concrete Street Repairs

Contractor: Galui Construction Company, Inc.

The contractor will be saw-cutting the project streets starting in May.  Pavement removals and concrete pavement will not begin until late May or early June.

CAP1822 Non-Motorized Improvements

The city will be installing signage and striping for a north-south bike route through the city.  The bike route begins at Washington Avenue and 10 Mile Road, extends north to Euclid Avenue, then east to N. Main Street, and finally north the city limits.  Where there are currently four lanes of traffic, the street will be reduced to a 3-lane roadway, with one lane of traffic in each direction, a center turn lane, and bicycle lanes on each side of the road.  This project is expected to begin in June.

W. Second Street Paving adjacent to Post Office

The parking deck contractor will be resurfacing W. Second Street from S. Washington Avenue to Center Street during the week of May 21st.  This block will closed to vehicles for two days, but pedestrians will be able to access the Post Office throughout the work.

Please note that construction schedules are tentative, and may change based on weather delays, subcontractors or substantial field modifications. These updates are based on the information currently available.
