CAP1715 Asphalt Resurfacing Improvements

Contractor: AJAX Paving Industries, Inc.


The contractor has finished restoration on all project streets. The contractor will water the restored areas throughout the summer until grass is established. Residents are encouraged to water the seeded areas as well.
 
The contractor will work on minor punch-list items for the project for the next couple weeks.

CAP1735 Road Reconstruction Improvements

Contractor: Mark Anthony Contracting, Inc.


Batavia Avenue

The contractor plans to finish all storm sewer and sanitary sewer improvements during the week of August 7th. Form-work for curb and gutter installation is tentatively scheduled to be installed towards the end of the week. Once the curb and gutter is placed, it will need to cure for approximately one week. Afterward, the contractor will mill the asphalt roadway and resurface with hot mix asphalt.
  

Dallas Avenue

The contractor will continue water main installation during the week of August 7th. After all the piping is installed the contractor will chlorinate and test the water main, which typically takes 3 to 4 days.

Fairview Avenue

The contractor has placed the road base material along Fairview Avenue. The road will be formed and paved after Kalama Avenue and Brinkey Avenue are paved and cured; the contractor is tentatively planning for the week of August 7th toward the end of the week.

Kalama Avenue and Brinkey Avenue

The contractor has prepared the road base material, and plans to finish paving operations during the week of August 7th. The pavement will remain closed for one week after concrete is placed to allow for curing. All paving work on these streets is scheduled to be completed by the end of August before school begins.

Lockwood Avenue

Pavement removals are scheduled to begin the week of August 7th. Pavement will only be removed to allow for water main installation at this time, primarily on the west side of the roadway. Driveway approaches that are removed will be filled in with stone to allow for resident access. Water main installation is tentatively scheduled to begin later in the week or possibly the following week.  

CAP1630 Special Assessment Paving Improvements

Contractor: Mark Anthony Contracting, Inc.



Public Alley - 14 Mile Road to Rochester Road (behind businesses)

The contractor tentatively plans to begin work in the next couple weeks; this work will be scheduled to take place along with asphalt work on Batavia Avenue (under CAP1735 above).

Orchard Grove Drive

The contractor is finishing the installation of water main piping. Afterward the contractor will chlorinate and test the water main, which typically takes 3 to 4 days with minimal activity onsite.
 
One tree was removed for water main installation and two additional trees are tentatively scheduled to be removed this Saturday.

Completed Streets

Topsoil and sod have been placed on all the new roads except for S. Edison Avenue.  Some of the sod that was placed appears to be dying; the contractor will be required to replace any dead sod, but intends to wait until after Labor Day to replace anything. Residents are encouraged to water the new sod in the meantime.

The contractor will work to cleanup, remove traffic control devices and signs, and perform minor punch-list repairs throughout the project streets for the next few weeks.

CAP1535 Road Reconstruction Improvements

Contractor: Hard Rock Concrete, Inc.


Sherman Drive Construction

Sherman Drive is open to traffic. Sod restoration is planned for September.

Linwood Avenue Construction

Linwood Avenue is open to traffic. Sod restoration is planned for September.

CAP1710 Water Main Improvements

Contractor: F.D.M. Contracting, Inc.


Bellaire Avenue

Bellaire Avenue is now fully open to traffic.  The contractor plans to finish asphalt patching work along the north property lines during the week of August 7th.

The contractor plans to wait until September for restoration on all project streets (Ferris, N. Vermont, Bellaire and Rochester).

CAP1505 Concrete Street Repairs

Contractor: Galui Construction Co., Inc.


The contractor plans to finish all open patches during the week of August 7th.

Hickory, Marais and Galpin will be worked on starting in late August or September.

2017 Sidewalk Improvement Program

Contractor: Italia Construction, Inc.


The contractor has finished most of the work for the sidewalk program and will be performing minor punch-list work during the week of August 7th.
