CAP1735 Road Reconstruction Improvements
Contractor: Mark Anthony Contracting, Inc.
The contractor plans to finish all storm sewer and sanitary sewer improvements during the week of August 7th. Form-work for curb and gutter installation is tentatively scheduled to be installed towards the end of the week. Once the curb and gutter is placed, it will need to cure for approximately one week. Afterward, the contractor will mill the asphalt roadway and resurface with hot mix asphalt.
The contractor will continue water main installation during the week of August 7th. After all the piping is installed the contractor will chlorinate and test the water main, which typically takes 3 to 4 days.
The contractor has placed the road base material along Fairview Avenue. The road will be formed and paved after Kalama Avenue and Brinkey Avenue are paved and cured; the contractor is tentatively planning for the week of August 7th toward the end of the week.
Kalama Avenue and Brinkey Avenue
The contractor has prepared the road base material, and plans to finish paving operations during the week of August 7th. The pavement will remain closed for one week after concrete is placed to allow for curing. All paving work on these streets is scheduled to be completed by the end of August before school begins.
Pavement removals are scheduled to begin the week of August 7th. Pavement will only be removed to allow for water main installation at this time, primarily on the west side of the roadway. Driveway approaches that are removed will be filled in with stone to allow for resident access. Water main installation is tentatively scheduled to begin later in the week or possibly the following week.
