CAP1715 Asphalt Resurfacing Improvements

Contractor: AJAX Paving Industries, Inc.

The contractor is completing all asphalt paving on Phase 4 streets today, July 14th.

The contractor will continue placing topsoil and seed on Phase 1 and 3 streets, and will move to Phase 2 streets afterward. The contractor will water the restored areas throughout the summer until grass is established. Residents are encouraged to water the seeded areas as well.

The contractor plans to pick up traffic control barricades and barrels during the week of July 17th and will work on minor punch-list items to complete the project.

CAP1735 Road Reconstruction Improvements

Contractor: Mark Anthony Contracting, Inc.

Batavia Avenue

The contractor will continue water main connections and water service transfers to the new water main during the week of July 17th. Properties that will be without water during connections will be notified via door hanger the day beforehand. Shutdowns are typically 4 to 8 hours long.

The Department of Public Service will also be transferring water services on E. Hudson, west of Batavia Avenue.

Dallas Avenue

The contractor plans to begin driveway and sidewalk removals on Dallas Avenue the week of July 17th to allow for new water main installation. The removals are primarily on the north side of Dallas Avenue between Helene Avenue and Stephenson Highway.

Fairview Avenue

The contractor will finish road preparation work once Consumers Energy replaces an existing shallow gas main. This is expected to take place during the week of July 17th.

Kalama Avenue and Brinkey Avenue

The contractor plans to continue underground utility installations on Kalama Avenue between Brinkey Avenue and Stephenson Highway during the week of July 17th. Consumers Energy is also working to replace the gas main along Kalama Avenue.

Residents will receive door-hanger notices 24 hours in advance when driveways will be unavailable.

CAP1630 Special Assessment Paving Improvements

Contractor: Mark Anthony Contracting, Inc.

Girard Road & Public Alley - from Whitcomb Ave. to Millard Ave.

The contractor will place topsoil and sod in disturbed areas in the coming weeks when sod is available. The recent rainstorms have delayed the ability to obtain sod.

S. Edison Avenue and W. Park Avenue

All concrete has now been poured on S. Edison Avenue and W. Park Avenue. Driveway approaches will be opened once concrete has cured during the week of July 17th.

The contractor plans to joint-seal the new pavement on these streets in the next couple weeks, and will post “No Parking” signs for this one-day operation.

Wrenford Road, Massoit Road & Bassett Road

Construction is complete on these roads with the exception of a few punch-list items to be completed at the end of the project. The contractor will clean up any remaining debris, signs, etc. in the coming weeks.

Public Alley - 14 Mile Road to Rochester Road (behind businesses)

The contractor tentatively plans to begin work in the alley at the end of July.

Orchard Grove Drive

The contractor tentatively plans to begin water main work at the end of July.

CAP1535 Road Reconstruction Improvements

Contractor: Hard Rock Concrete, Inc.

Sherman Drive Construction

Sherman Drive is now open to traffic. Sod restoration is planned for September.

Linwood Avenue Construction

The contractor has finished pouring the roadway concrete and the road will be completely closed to traffic while the concrete cures during the week of July 17th.

Residents have been authorized to park in the Shrine Grade School parking lot as needed during construction.

CAP1710 Water Main Improvements

Contractor: F.D.M. Contracting, Inc.

Bellaire Avenue

The contractor has placed all concrete on the north side of the roadway, and the road is scheduled to be opened to two-way traffic by today, July 14th.

The contractor plans to place concrete patches on the south side of the road during the week of July 17th. Drivers should proceed with caution around these patches.

Rochester Road

The contractor plans to finish asphalt replacement for driveways today, July 14th. Seed restoration will take place later in the season.

CAP1505 Concrete Street Repairs

Contractor: Galui Construction Co., Inc.

The contractor plans to finish the second half of the streets north of 12 Mile Road in the next couple weeks. Work on Galpin, Hickory and Marais will be delayed until late July or early August.

2017 Sidewalk Improvement Program

Contractor: Italia Construction, Inc.

The contractor is finishing up sidewalk work on major roads in the next few work days. Work on new sidewalk installation (where none previously existed) is tentatively scheduled for the end of next week. More information on the program can be found at www.romi.gov/sidewalks.
