CAP1715 Asphalt Resurfacing Improvements

Contractor: AJAX Paving Industries, Inc.


Phase 1 and 2 paving work is complete with the exception of N. Washington Avenue,  where more road base repair work was needed.  N. Washington Avenue is scheduled to be paved along with the Phase 3 streets.
 
For Phase 3 streets, the contractor plans to begin paving the week of June 19th.
 
The contractor will also continue curb removal work on Phase 4 streets during the week of June 19th.
 
Restoration work for Phases 1, 2 and 3 is tentatively scheduled for the last week in June.

CAP1735 Road Reconstruction Improvements

Contractor: Mark Anthony Contracting, Inc.


Batavia Avenue

The contractor plans to chlorinate and test the new water main piping during the week of June 19th. There will be limited work on the street during the week.
  

Dallas Avenue

The contractor plans to begin work on Dallas Avenue after the July 4th holiday.

Fairview Avenue

The contractor is planning to begin work on Fairview Avenue on Friday June 16th. The contractor will begin removing concrete and replacing sewer piping within the cul-de-sac area. The concrete within the roadway will also be removed.
 
The driveways off of Fairview Avenue will be closed during construction. Residents on the south side of Fairview Avenue have been authorized to park in visitor parking spaces at the apartment complex.
 
The business plaza on the north side of Fairview Avenue will have a temporary gravel driveway installed at the south end of the property during construction as shown below.

The remaining streets are scheduled to be reconstructed in the following order:

  • Kalama Avenue:  Brinkey Avenue to Stephenson Highway
  • Brinkey Avenue:  Kalama Avenue to Harwood Avenue
  • Lockwood Avenue:  Catalpa Drive to Crane Avenue

CAP1630 Special Assessment Paving Improvements

Contractor: Mark Anthony Contracting, Inc.


Public Alley - East of Rochester Road, from Whitcomb Ave. to Millard Ave.

The alley is now paved and will be closed to traffic during the week of June 19th while the concrete cures. The contractor will perform asphalt repairs for the parking lot areas once the concrete is cured.


S. Edison Avenue

The contractor is currently preparing the roadway for paving. The contractor plans to pour concrete during the week of June 19th.

Wrenford Road, Massoit Road, Bassett Road, Girard Road

The restoration work on these streets has been delayed due to topsoil availability. The contractor plans to begin restoration work starting the week of June 19th. The streets will be restored in the order listed above.

W. Park Avenue

The contractor is currently preparing the roadway for paving. The contractor plans to pour concrete during the week of June 19th.

Public Alley - 14 Mile Road to Rochester Road (behind businesses)

The contractor plans to begin work in the alley after the July 4th holiday.

CAP1535 Road Reconstruction Improvements

Contractor: Hard Rock Concrete, Inc.


Sherman Drive Construction

The contractor expects to have all roadway concrete placed by the end of this week. During the week of June 19th, the contractor will install sidewalk and driveway approaches.
  
Maxwell Avenue will remain closed at the intersection of Sherman Drive.  Maple Avenue can be used an alternate north/south route.
 
Sherman Drive is tentatively scheduled to be open to the public by the July 4th holiday.

Linwood Avenue Construction

The underground utility work is complete on Linwood Avenue and the contractor will begin removing all the roadway concrete this week. Starting today the road will be closed to all traffic. Residents have been authorized to park in the Shrine Grade School parking lot as needed during construction.

The contractor plans to install the west half of the road first, during the week of June 19th. The contractor will install the east half of the road the following week. Once all roadway concrete has been placed, the road will remain closed to all traffic for one week while the concrete cures.

CAP1710 Water Main Improvements

Contractor: F.D.M. Contracting, Inc.


Bellaire Avenue

The contractor will continue sidewalk and driveway preparation work the week of June 19th.

N. Vermont Avenue and Ferris Avenue

The contractor is almost complete with these roads, except a few punch list items. Restoration and cleanup work will be performed in the coming weeks.

Rochester Road

All the sidewalk has been placed on Rochester Road except for handicap ramps and some driveway halves. The contractor will continue with concrete roadway repairs at intersections and the remaining sidewalk/driveway work the week of June 19th.
 
The easternmost lane of northbound Rochester Road will have intermittent lane closures during work hours.

Public Alley - W Sixth Street to W Seventh Street, east of Washington Ave.

Half of the alley and the road crossing at W. Sixth Street are scheduled to be paved at the end of this week. The new concrete will need to cure for one week before it is opened to traffic. W. Seventh Street will remain open to traffic while W. Sixth Street is closed.

Street parking will continue to be unavailable on W. Seventh Street between S. Washington Avenue and S. Center Street.

CAP1505 Concrete Street Repairs

Contractor: Galui Construction Co., Inc.


The contractor has started pavement removals north of 12 Mile Road and will continue throughout the week of June 19th. Work south of 12 Mile Road is planned to be completed by the end of the month.

2017 Sidewalk Improvement Program

Contractor: Italia Construction, Inc.


The contractor has started working east of Rochester Road and north of 13 Mile, and will continue throughout the coming weeks. Areas of the city that are scheduled for new sidewalk installation (where none previously existed) will be completed after the removal/replacement work is finished. More information on the program can be found at www.romi.gov/sidewalks.
