CAP1715 Asphalt Resurfacing Improvements

The contractor has started curbing removals for Phase 1 streets, and is planning to continue to remove and replace curbing throughout the week of April 24th. Residents in Phase 1 should mark the locations of their sprinkler lines between the sidewalk and the curb.

The contractor also plans to finish locating gas services for all phases early next week. Please do not remove stakes placed by the contractor to identify your gas services.

CAP1630 Special Assessment Paving Improvements

S. Edison Avenue

The contractor has installed the majority of the water main pipe on S. Edison Avenue. The contractor plans to install new water main under 11 Mile Road by boring under the roadway. This will require a traffic shift on 11 Mile Road, with at least one lane of traffic open in each direction.

Wrenford Road

The contractor plans to begin excavation and grading work on Wrenford Road the week of April 24th.

Massoit Road

The contractor may also begin excavation and grading on Massoit Road later next week, depending on weather conditions.

CAP1535 Sherman Drive Construction

The contractor has finished paving the section of Sherman Drive between 11 Mile Road and N. West Street. The remaining concrete at the intersection of N. West Street and Sherman Drive is planned be placed early next week.

The contractor plans to pave the north half of Sherman Drive from Forestdale Road to the east with concrete the week of April 24th (green area below). The new concrete will need to cure for approximately one week. After the north half is cured, the contractor will pave the south half of this section and also the driveway approaches on the north half. This section of Sherman Drive will be closed to traffic until the concrete on both sides is completely cured.

While the north half of Phase I cures, the contractor plans to begin excavation and grading from N. West Street to Maxwell Avenue. Sherman Drive will be closed between N. West Street and Maxwell Avenue, but the intersection at Maxwell Avenue will remain open.

CAP1710 Water Main Improvements

Bellaire Avenue, Ferris Avenue, N. Vermont Avenue, Rochester Road

On Bellaire Avenue, the contractor plans to install the new water main under Campbell Road by boring under the roadway.  This work will require temporary lane closures, with at least one lane of traffic open in each direction on Campbell Road.

On N. Vermont Avenue, the water main installation is now complete. The contractor plans to begin to remove and replace sections of pavement in the next few weeks.

Rochester Road from Donald Avenue to 14 Mile Rd will be the next street under construction, likely in one to two weeks. This work will take place primarily in the greenbelt area on the east side of Rochester Road.

CAP1505 Concrete Street Repairs

The contractor has begun to saw-cut sections of pavement in preparation for removal. The pavement removal and replacement work is scheduled to begin in May. Work will start at the south end of the city, moving north on one side of the streets. Once finished, they plan to repeat the process, working on the other side of the streets, moving from south to north. This allows thru traffic during construction.

2017 Sidewalk Improvement Program

The city has mailed estimates to property owners located within this year's sidewalk improvement target area. The project area is generally located north of 13 Mile Road and east of the railroad tracks.  Work is scheduled to begin in May, starting at the west end of the target area and moving eastwards. 2016 Sidewalk Improvement Program

The city's contractor is currently working north of 14 Mile Road, finishing the remaining work from 2016. Work is scheduled to be completed within the next 30 days.

The city's contractor plans to start joint sealing several major and local roads in the next two weeks as shown on the city's project map. Major roads with intermittent lane closures include:
