CAP1535 Sherman Drive Construction

The contractor has finished placing the water main and will be connecting it to the city's water supply and transferring individual water services early in the week of April 10th. The storm sewer work will also be completed early next week.

The contractor is scheduled to begin grading the road between 11 Mile Road and N. West Street at the beginning of the week. This section of Sherman Drive will be closed, though access to Sherman Drive via N. West Street will be available. Afterward, the contractor will begin grading work starting at Forestdale Road and moving east.

CAP1710 Water Main Improvements

Bellaire Avenue, Ferris Avenue, N. Vermont Avenue, Rochester Road

On Bellaire Avenue, the contractor will connect the new water main and perform service connections the week of April 10th.

On N. Vermont, the water main pipe has been installed and the contractor will perform pressure and bacteria testing on the water main next week prior to connection.

Properties that will be without water during water main connections will be notified via door hanger the day beforehand. Shutdowns are typically 4 to 8 hours long.

On Ferris Avenue, all water main work is now complete. The contractor has back-filled the excavated areas, and will replace concrete at a future date (likely in several weeks). The road is fully open to traffic.

CAP1505 Concrete Street Repairs

The contractor has begun to saw-cut sections of pavement in preparation for removal. The pavement removal and replacement work is scheduled to begin in May. Work will start at the south end of the city and move north.

S1601 Sewer Cleaning and Root Cutting

The city's contractor is currently performing sewer cleaning and root cutting in various sewers within the city. The project area is bounded by 14 Mile Road, Greenfield Road, Webster Road and Coolidge Highway.

2017 Sidewalk Improvement Program

The city will be mailing estimates to property owners located within this year's sidewalk improvement target area next week. The project area is generally located north of 13 Mile Road and east of the railroad tracks.

2016 Sidewalk Improvement Program

The city's contractor is currently working north of 14 Mile Road, finishing the remaining work from 2016.
