Improving Royal Oak

CAP1535 Sherman Drive Construction

The contractor will begin construction on Sherman Drive next week by first breaking up the asphalt pavement from 11 Mile Road to Forestdale Road. This will result in a "gravel-type" roadway prior to road reconstruction. The road will be open to traffic during this operation.

Afterward, the contractor will begin installing water main on the north side of Sherman Drive from Josephine Avenue to approximately 700 feet east.  The road will be open to traffic, though some areas will only have one through-lane open.

CAP1710 Water Main Improvements

The contractor will begin work on Bellaire Avenue (Campbell Road to N. Edgeworth Avenue) next week. Pavement removal will take place on the north side of the roadway, and water main installation will follow afterward.  The road will be open to local traffic only.

Water main installation on Ferris Avenue (Donald Avenue to 14 Mile Road) is scheduled to begin in the next couple weeks also.

CAP1505 Concrete Street Repairs

The city's consultant will begin painting the limits of pavement removal on streets within Sections 9, 16, 17 and 21 of the city. The removal limits will be marked with colored paint. The contractor is not scheduled to begin pavement repairs until mid-May, starting at the south end of the city and moving north.
