2024 Construction Projects Map

Use the map above to see if a project is affecting your street. The city realizes construction will be an inconvenience and all efforts to expedite the work will be utilized to minimize traffic conflicts and access to various properties abutting the project.

Notices of Construction have been mailed to affected residents and copies are available online here.

CAP2407 Crooks Road

This week the contractor will be grading the roadway between Lloyd and Vinsetta.  They will also continue pavement removals working from 13 Mile south, along the East side of Crooks to Main Street. Royal Ave at Crooks will be temporarily closed while the contractor works on grading.

CAP2416/2415 Asphalt Resurfacing

This project will resurface several streets in the residential neighborhoods and the downtown.

Phase 1 & 2: Complete.

Phase 3 & 4: Irrigation and landscape restoration will continue this week.

Phase 5: The contractor has tentatively scheduled paving the final layer of asphalt this week, weather permitting. Irrigation and landscape restoration will begin directly after final paving.

CAP2435 Road Reconstruction

The forecast of inclement weather this week may delay some of the work.

For completed streets: The contractor will be working on joint sealing and landscape restoration.

On Massoit, the contractor plans to remove the forms late this week from the areas that were poured last week.  Then the contractor will begin work on sidewalks and driveway approaches next week.

The remaining concrete work at the Hampton intersection is planned for this week.

On Vinsetta, no work planned for this week.

On Marais, the contractor plans to begin working on pavement removals.  Southbound traffic on Marais is closed until construction is complete. Northbound is open. 

On Glenwood, the contractor is prepping the roadway for new concrete, which is tentatively scheduled to be poured later this week, weather permitting.

On Hillside, work begins Tuesday with concrete breaking and removals.

 *As part of this project the contractor will also be installing traffic calming chicanes on Marais Avenue between Thistle and Lexington as approved by the city commission.

CAP2405 Concrete Street Repairs

This project will replace some of the worst panels on the project streets shown in light blue on the project map linked above.

Phase 1, 2 and 3 streets are now complete.

Merrill Ave - the contractor is pouring the first halves of the speed humps.  

For Phase 4, the contractor will be working on pouring Chippewa after Merrill. 

For Phase 5 streets, the contractor will be working on removals for second halves.

First halves / Second halves - The contractor will work on one side of the street at a time to maintain access for residents during construction.

CAP2410 Water Main Improvements

The contractor has completed water main installation on Northwood and the new water main will undergo testing this week.

Water main installation will begin this week on Sycamore.

CAP2440 Green Infrastructure Improvements

Sheridan Drive - Arden Place - Grandview Road

The contractor will start later in the week with water main connections and water services.  If residents will be affected by a shut-off, they will be notified in advance with the date, time and duration.

CAP2402 Sidewalk Program

The sidewalk work is complete.  This week the contractor will be working on landscape restoration and punch list items.
