2024 Construction Projects Map

Use the map above to see if a project is affecting your street. The city realizes construction will be an inconvenience and all efforts to expedite the work will be utilized to minimize traffic conflicts and access to various properties abutting the project.

Notices of Construction have been mailed to affected residents and copies are available online here.

CAP2407 Crooks Road

N. Main Street to 13 Mile Road

This week the contractor will finish the installation of new water main from Royal to Webster and then the water main will undergo testing.

One lane will be open for traffic in each direction throughout construction. Left turns will be prohibited for northbound and southbound traffic throughout the corridor to reduce traffic backups. Access to businesses will be maintained during construction.

CAP2415/2416 Asphalt Resurfacing

This project will resurface several streets in the residential neighborhoods and the downtown.

CAP2416 Downtown

Paving is now complete on the project streets downtown. Only some minor restoration and punch list work still needs to occur.

CAP2415 Neighborhoods

Phase 2: The contractor is adjusting heights and vacuum cleaning sewer structures this week in advance of the final roadway paving. The final layer of asphalt is tentatively scheduled for next week once this work is complete.

Some tree branches were damaged during milling operations, so the Forestry Division will be out to trim the trees once final paving is completed.

Phase 3: Crews plan to complete concrete work on streets this week. Milling of the existing roadways is tentatively scheduled for next week.

CAP2435 Road Reconstruction

The forecast of inclement weather this week may delay some of the work.

On Albert Avenue, the contractor will be pouring the new driveway approaches this week.

On Parkview, the contractor will continue work on removing the existing roadway pavement and doing prep work for the new road.

On Samoset, the contractor will be pouring the new driveway approaches this week.

On Vinsetta, the new water main is installed and testing is complete and the contractor has scheduled the water service connections for next week. There will be minimal activity this week.

On Nakota, the contractor will finish pouring the new roadway pavement this week.

On Massoit, the contractor will continue removals on the west section and pour the new driveway approaches on the east section this week.

 *As part of this project the contractor will also be installing traffic calming chicanes on Marais Avenue between Thistle and Lexington as approved by the city commission.

CAP2405 Concrete Street Repairs

This project will replace some of the worst panels on the project streets shown in light blue on the project map linked above.

For Phase 1 streets, the contractor is working on second halves.

For Phase 2 streets, the contractor is pouring new concrete beginning on Woodland and Chester.

For Phase 3 streets, the contractor has started removals on first halves.

First halves / Second halves - The contractor will work on one side of the street at a time to maintain access for residents during construction.

CAP2410 Water Main Improvements

This year the city will be installing new water main on the following streets:

  • Northwood Boulevard from Woodward Avenue to Crooks Road
  • Sycamore Avenue from Northwood Boulevard to Bonnie View Drive

The contractor plans to start mobilizing equipment and traffic control devices to Northwood Blvd over the next two weeks and then begin construction work after Memorial Day.

CAP2440 Green Infrastructure Improvements

Sheridan Drive - Arden Place - Grandview Road

This project is scheduled to begin after Memorial Day. The contractor may begin mobilizing materials and traffic control devices to the neighborhood in advance, and will begin work with water main installation on Sheridan Drive.

CAP2402 Sidewalk Program

The contractor plans to start work in the Phase 1 neighborhood the week of May 20th.
