Rochester Road Update

This Sunday, Oct, 29, the contractor plans to pave Rochester Road from Main Street to 12 Mile, and also the center lane between 12 Mile and 13 Mile (outside lanes will be open).

Tentatively Monday or Tuesday (weather dependent) Rochester Road between 12 Mile and 13 Mile will be CLOSED to traffic to place the final layer of asphalt. Signs will be placed at each side-street the day beforehand to let nearby residents know about the road closure. Residents that have driveway access off Rochester Road will have limited access to their driveway during paving operations and may want to park on side streets. Keep an eye on social media for schedule updates.

Thank you for your patience! The road will reopen to one lane in each direction while we build the pedestrian crossing islands and paint the lane lines. We hope to have Rochester Road fully open by mid-November.

Early In-Person Voting Begins

You can cast your vote in-person early, starting this Saturday, October 28th! You can visit two convenient locations:

1. M/M Senior Center, 3500 Marias, Royal Oak

2. Waterford Oaks Activity Center, 2800 Watkins Lake Rd, Waterford (County-wide site)

Voting hours are 8:30 am - 4:30 pm every day until Sunday, November 5 WITH THE EXCEPTION of Thursday, November 2, when polls will be open late from 12 pm - 8 pm.

?? Important Note: If you've received an absentee ballot but want to vote early instead, we're here to help. Just visit the early voting site, and we'll take care of it for you. This process is the same on Election Day too.

Fall Curbside Leaf Collection

Our annual fall curbside leaf collection starts on Monday, October 30!

Here are a few things you need to know:

Over the next six weeks, we’ll be doing two full circuits, meaning we’ll be visiting each street twice.
The last date for the curbside leaf collection is Friday, December 8.
If you see us on your street on a day that is not on the schedule, don’t worry we’ll be back on the pre-scheduled day, unless notified. This means we are ahead of schedule or are doing an extra pass through!
SOCRRA accepts leaf drop-off through December 18. For more information, visit: socrra.org/.

Residential Lock Boxes Available at the Fire Department

The Royal Oak Fire Department’s residential lockbox program is designed to get quick access to adults living in their own homes during medical emergencies -- especially senior citizens. When every second counts, the lockbox -- which contains a key to your home -- reduces the likelihood of property damage caused by first responders forcing entry into your home in response to an emergency call.
