2023 project map

2023 Construction Project Map available now!

Use the map above to see if a project is affecting your street. The city realizes construction will be an inconvenience and all efforts to expedite the work will be utilized to minimize traffic conflicts and access to various properties abutting the project.

Notices of Construction have been mailed to affected residents and copies are available online here.

CAP2306 Rochester Road

This week the contractor is continuing work installing underdrain along the east edge of the roadway. Once complete the contractor will begin prep work for installation of the road base.

Turn Restrictions and Closures:

Left turns will not be allowed for northbound and southbound traffic at 12 Mile Road, Girard Avenue and at 13 Mile Road during construction to avoid backups. Northbound Rochester Road will be completely closed between Gardenia Avenue and Dewey Street. Local access to the Oakview Cemetery and Rite Aid will remain open.

More information about the lane conversion can be found at: www.romi.gov/RochesterRoad

CAP2308 Major Road Improvements

Vinsetta Boulevard:

This week, weather permitting, the contractor will finish up concrete work on the sidewalk ramps, crosswalks and bump-outs. If completed by Wednesday, the contractor will start milling the roadway surface on Thursday or Friday.

Normandy Road:

Construction and water main installation has been delayed to the week of May 15th.

Normandy Road will be closed to thru traffic throughout construction. Residents with driveways on Normandy will still be able to enter the construction zone via the side streets to access their property. Businesses should direct their patrons, employees and deliveries to use Coolidge to access Normandy Road to minimize conflicts with construction work.

Lincoln Avenue:

The road is closed to thru traffic, but access to businesses and residences will remain open. The contractor has completed concrete work and tentatively plans to mill the roadway surface the week of May 15th.

CAP2305 Concrete Repair Program

The contractor is continuing work in the northwest area of the project limits. Weather permitting, the contractor will remove sections of pavement in Phase 1 and Phase 2 areas, working their way south and east. They will pour the new pavement later this week.

Saw-cutting will start this week in the Phase 3 area.

Work will only be performed on one side of the street at a time, to maintain access for residents throughout construction. Only the worst sections of concrete pavement will be removed and replaced, not the entire roadway. If driveway access will be affected, residents will be notified the day beforehand via doorhanger.

The map below shows the project streets highlighted in LIGHT BLUE.

CAP2310 Water Main Improvements

Water main installation continues this week on Longfellow. Occasional water main shut-offs may occur without notice, due to breaks in the older water services to homes.  These are typically short duration and the inspector will knock on doors to notify residents affected.

CAP2315 Asphalt Resurfacing

The project streets shown in purple on the project map have been divided into three phases as shown below.

Phase 1

The contractor is continuing work on Hawthorn, most of the concrete on the south side of the roadway has now been poured. Once south side driveways are re-opened the contractor will switch to the north side, weather dependent.

The contractor will also start concrete work on the south side of Forest this week, between Rosedale and Alexander. If residents will lose driveway access, they will be notified via doorhanger at least 24 hours in advance.

Weather permitting, the contractor may begin saw-cutting on N. Wilson towards the end of the week.

CAP2315 Phasing

CAP2335 Road Reconstruction

Parkdale (Vermont to N. Wilson)

The contractor will begin installing edge drain along the roadway, once the new road base dries out.
