I-75 Freeway & Bridge Work


The following locations are closed this summer for reconstruction as part of the freeway project:

  • 12 Mile Road is closed at I-75
  • Lincoln Ave bridge

The Gardenia Avenue bridge has now been re-opened to traffic!

Questions or concerns regarding the bridge and freeway work should be sent to Oakland Corridor Partners who are overseeing Segment 3 of the construction for MDOT.

CAP2109 S Main Street and E Lincoln Avenue Resurfacing

Contractor: AJAX Paving Industries, Inc.


S. Main Street - Lincoln to 11 Mile

The contractor is doing the final paving this week Monday and Tuesday. Main Street will be closed to traffic between Lincoln and 11 Mile during work hours. New pavement striping and landscape restoration will follow.

E. Lincoln Avenue - Knowles to Campbell
The contractor will be performing the final paving this week, beginning Wednesday. New pavement striping and landscape restoration to follow.

CAP2215 Asphalt Resurfacing

Contractor: Hutch Paving, Inc.


LANDSCAPE/LAWN RESTORATION: Lawn restoration is being delayed until end of August for more favorable temperatures for seeding.

Phase 1

Landscape restoration that didn't take or has not been completed will be delayed until Labor Day for more favorable weather.

Phase 2
For Delemere, the contractor plans to install the new pavement striping this week and bumper blocks for the new angled parking. Landscape restoration to follow.

Phase 3
Troy, University, Fairgrove, Pingree and Alexander - Asphalt milling is scheduled for this week beginning on Thursday.


Amelia - The contractor plans to mill the existing pavement on the block between Rochester and Blair this Thursday. On the block between Blair and Campbell, the contractor is working on curbing and driveway approaches on the south side of the roadway.

Connecticut - The contractor will begin removals of concrete curbing and driveways this week on the east side.

Temporary 'No Parking' signs will be placed where room for construction equipment is needed.

CAP2110 Northwood Viaduct Pavement Replacement

Contractor: FDM Contracting, Inc.


The city's contractor has completed the water main installation and testing. This week they will begin the prep work for road restoration.

NORTHWOOD ROAD CLOSURE: Northwood will be completely closed to traffic at the viaduct. The closure will remain in place for several weeks while crews perform construction work. "Road Closed Ahead" signs will be placed along Northwood beginning at Woodward Ave to the west and Crooks Road to the east. However, residents may still see cut-thru traffic in their neighborhood due to the closure.

CAP2205 Concrete Street Repairs

Contractor: Hutch Paving, Inc.


The contractor has started saw-cutting work on the project streets. In the neighborhood between 11 Mile and Catalpa removal and replacement work has begun, working their way north.

The contractor will only work on one side of the street at a time to maintain access throughout construction.
