I-75 Freeway & Bridge Work


The following locations are closed this summer for reconstruction as part of the freeway project:

  • 12 Mile Road is closed at I-75
  • Gardenia Ave bridge
  • Lincoln Ave bridge

Questions or concerns regarding the bridge and freeway work should be sent to Oakland Corridor Partners who are overseeing Segment 3 of the construction for MDOT.

CAP2109 S Main Street and E Lincoln Avenue Resurfacing

Contractor: AJAX Paving Industries, Inc.


S. Main Street - Lincoln to 11 Mile

The contractor has placed the base layer of asphalt on Man Street. The contractor is working on installation of a new pedestrian crossing island at Main and Sixth. The contractor is planning to pour the new curbing this week; and is also adjusting manholes and structures for the final height of the pavement.

E. Lincoln Avenue - Knowles to Campbell
The base layer of asphalt has been placed on the roadway. The contractor is working on the installations of new pedestrian crossing islands this week and also adjusting manholes and structures for the final height of the roadway. They have prepped all the island locations and plan to install curbing this week.

CAP2215 Asphalt Resurfacing

Contractor: Hutch Paving, Inc.


Phase 1

All the project streets in Phase 1 are complete, with minor restoration work remaining.

Phase 2
For Delemere, the contractor completed paving over the weekend. New pavement markings and restoration is scheduled this week.

Phase 3
On University, Pingree and Fairgrove concrete work is complete. The contractor is scheduling the roadways to be milled (remove top layers of asphalt), likely after the holiday weekend.

On Alexander and Troy, the contractor plans to begin concrete work this week.

On Amelia, the city's contractor has started concrete work on the block between Rochester and Blair, where the gas company has finished their underground work. Work between Blair and Campbell will likely begin in two weeks once Consumer's Energy is finished.

On Connecticut, the gas company plans to finish their work before the July 4th holiday and the city will begin the roadwork after, tentatively scheduled t begin the week of the 11th.

Temporary 'No Parking' signs will be placed where room for construction equipment is needed.

CAP2110 Northwood Viaduct Pavement Replacement

Contractor: FDM Contracting, Inc.


The city's contractor is testing the newly installed water main this week. Once completed they will connect it to the existing water system and begin road restoration.

NORTHWOOD ROAD CLOSURE: Northwood will be completely closed to traffic at the viaduct. The closure will remain in place for several weeks while crews perform construction work. "Road Closed Ahead" signs will be placed along Northwood beginning at Woodward Ave to the west and Crooks Road to the east. However, residents may still see cut-thru traffic in their neighborhood due to the closure.
