CAP2109 S Main Street and E Lincoln Avenue Resurfacing

Contractor: AJAX Paving Industries, Inc.

S. Main Street - Lincoln to 11 Mile

This week the contractor will continue work on replacing curbing. The catch basin work is complete and the new traffic signal underground work at 3rd and 4th is complete. Traffic signal underground work at Lincoln Avenue is continuing.

ROAD CLOSURE: Tentatively scheduled to begin Monday the 16th, the east/west closure of Fourth Street at Main Street will occur, so crews can pour the new intersection. This closure will remain in place for two weeks so the concrete can be installed and then cure to gain full strength. The intersection should be opened up in time for Memorial Day weekend.

Work on Lincoln Avenue is tentatively scheduled to begin in two weeks. Construction notices have been mailed and you can view the plans at www.romi.gov/roadwork

CAP2215 Asphalt Resurfacing

Contractor: Hutch Paving, Inc.

Phase 1

The contractor is finishing up concrete work on Kenwood and Dorchester this week; the contractor plans to mill and pave the roadway beginning next week.

Custer, Jeffrey and Sunnybrook are scheduled to be milled this week on Thursday, with paving to follow tentatively on Saturday or next Monday.

Concrete work is complete on Red Run Ct with the exception of the new intersection pavement. This work is done in halves and expected to be complete by next week.

Phase 2
On Vermont, driveway and curbing removals are complete, as well as the undercutting for the new stone road base and edge drain installation. Intersection work at DeVillen is scheduled for Thursday and Friday. Next week the contractor plans to finish driveway approach installations, install and grade the new stone road base in preparation for paving.

For Delemere, if work progresses smoothly this week, the contractor may begin saw-cutting the pavement in preparation for removals.

Phase 3
Since work has been progressing smoothly, the contractor may be able to start on some Phase 3 streets late next week, such as Alexander, University, Fairgrove and Pingree.

Temporary 'No Parking' signs will be placed where room for construction equipment is needed.
