The city realizes construction will be an inconvenience and all efforts to expedite the work will be utilized to minimize traffic conflicts and access to various properties abutting the project. CAP1909 MDOT 14 Mile Road ResurfacingContractor: Florence Cement Company The north half of 14 Mile Road is currently closed for the second phase of construction with traffic shifted to the south side of the roadway. One travel lane is open in each direction. Left turns are prohibited at several side streets along the corridor.
The week of July 13th, the contractor plans to complete the remaining concrete work on the north side of the roadway and close those areas off to cure. The contractor will also be working on some landscape restoration.

CAP2005 Concrete Street RepairsContractor: Italia Construction, Inc. The contractor will be going south to north on the various project streets, working on several streets at once. They will be working on one side of the street at a time to maintain access throughout construction. Signs stating 'No Parking 7am - 8pm' will be placed by the contractor as necessary.
Work is continuing at the south end of the project between 11 Mile Road and 13 Mile Road. The contractor is cutting out bad sections of road pavement and restoring with new concrete, working on one side of the street at a time.

CAP2010 Water Main ImprovementsContractor: FDM Contracting, Inc. The city's contractor has been authorized to use the northeast section of VFW Park for construction staging and material storage. The area will be fenced off for public safety. Vehicles will enter/exit using Campbell Road and Sixth Street. Once the project is complete, the disturbed areas will be re-graded and restored with topsoil and seed. The contractor will also make some park improvements by planting new trees and installing new picnic tables.
Fifth Street - The week of July 13th the contractors will finish addressing individual water services that are lead or galvanized. The final water main connection will be scheduled once complete. The contractors also plan to begin grading for new curbing, gutter and driveway approaches on the north side by mid-week. Residents who will lose access to their driveways will be notified via door hanger and will not be able to park in the driveway for approximately 7-10 days while the new concrete is placed and cured.
S. Rembrandt Avenue - The contractor will finish transferring water services and continue addressing individual services that are lead or galvanized. Residents will receive a knock on the door to inform them before their service is transferred to the new main. Typically this is a short operation and the water will be turned off for only 20-30 minutes.
Seventh Street - The contractor will be addressing individual services that are lead or galvanized. Once complete they will perform the final water main connection at Seventh Street and Troy Street, which is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday. Residents will receive a door hanger the day beforehand, if they are affected, with the duration of the shut-off.
S. Altadena Avenue - This week the contractor will be transferring individual water services to the main. Residents will receive a knock on the door to inform them before their service is transferred to the new main. Typically this is a short operation and the water will be turned off for only 20-30 minutes. The contractor will also be addressing water services that are lead or galvanized.
S. Vermont Avenue - The first water main connection is scheduled for Tuesday at Vermont Avenue and Fifth Street. Residents who will be affected by the shut-off were notified today via door hanger. Once the connection is complete the contractor will begin transferring individual water services to the new main and addressing lead or galvanized services.
Helene Avenue - The new water main is finishing up testing this week. The contractor plans to make the first water main connection towards the end of the week. Affected residents will be notified via door hanger the day beforehand with the shut-off time and duration.
Longfellow Avenue - Water main installation continues this week.

CAP2050 CDBG Judson Avenue PavingJudson Avenue from Prairie Avenue to Harvard RoadContractor: Mark Anthony Contracting, Inc Restoration work and minor punch-list items will continue this week. The contractor plans to joint seal the newly paved road mid-week. This one-day operation may cause some dust for adjacent residents when the contractor uses air to clean out the joints before sealing.

CAP2015 Asphalt Resurfacing ImprovementsContractor: AJAX Paving Industries Phase 1 Streets - The contractor is continuing clean up and landscape restoration the week of July 13th.
The northeast corner of Sunset Boulevard and Woodsboro Drive will be restored later this week once Consumers Energy is finished with their repair work.
Phase 2 Streets – The contractor will work on concrete curbing replacement on the Phase 2 streets this week, beginning on Woodslee Drive. Once Woodslee is complete the contractor will move to Linwood, Woodland, then Ferncliff. Residents may see the contractor on the streets this week performing saw-cutting in advance of the removal crews arriving.
NOTE: In case of extreme high temperatures, the city will allow the contractor to begin pouring new concrete at 6:00 a.m. instead of 7:00 a.m. If this happens, residents of the block will receive a notice the day beforehand via door hanger. Concrete removal operations would still not be allowed to begin until 7:00 a.m.

CAP2009 Lincoln Avenue ResurfacingLincoln Avenue from Woodward Avenue to Lafayette AvenueContractor: Asphalt Specialists, Inc Lincoln Avenue will be closed to traffic during construction and only one-way traffic will be allowed on Lincoln Avenue, eastbound, between Woodward Avenue and Lafayette Avenue.
The contractor is finishing up concrete work this week before the final layer of pavement is put down. Final paving is tentatively scheduled for early next week.

CAP2035 Road Reconstruction ImprovementsContractor: Mark Anthony Contracting, Inc Knowles Street - The contractor plans to set permeable paver stones this week.
Lenox Avenue and Massoit Road - The contractor will be working on placing the new driveway approaches this week, they have tentatively scheduled to pour the new concrete approaches mid-week.
Chester Road - The contractor has tentatively scheduled the new road to be poured Thursday, weather permitting.
Hillside Drive - The contractor has tentatively scheduled the new road pavement to be poured Friday, weather permitting.
