Status of 2020 Construction Projects

Due to the "Stay Home, Stay Safe" executive order, all local infrastructure projects are on hold until May 16th. The only project that has been permitted to continue is the 14 Mile Road Resurfacing project.

Copies of construction notice letters are available on the city website. The engineering division will update residents and property owners as new information is received or updated timelines are established.

CAP1909 MDOT 14 Mile Road Resurfacing

Contractor: Florence Cement Company

The south half of 14 Mile Road is currently closed for the first phase of construction with traffic shifted to the north side of the roadway. Left turns are prohibited at several side streets along the corridor.

This week the contractor will continue working on pavement base repairs.

CAP2002 Sidewalk Improvement Program

At the April 13, 2020 meeting, the city commission discussed the sidewalk program and directed the engineering division to postpone the program until 2021. Engineering staff will be re-inspecting the condition of sidewalks in the fall and residents who were in the 2020 target area will receive more information in Spring 2021.
