COVID-19 Update: Message from the Senior/Community Center

  • The Senior Center remains closed to the general public.  We are pleased to announce that limited in-person fitness classes are available for your enjoyment. Before entering the M & M Senior Community Center staff will be screening all participants with a set of questions and have your temperature taken. 
  • Please allow extra time for this before class.
  • Masks are required to be worn the entire time you are inside the building.  
  • Remember to keep a distance of at least 6 feet between yourselves.  
  • Your time inside the Center is limited to class time only.  Please exit the building to hold conversation after class; we will need the time to sanitize the room before the next class.

The City of Royal Oak has a beautiful community center where mature adults aged 50 and better can enjoy opportunities for lifelong education, fitness, nutrition and leisure activities. In addition, supportive services that promote independence and quality of life are available for residents who are 60 and over or permanently disabled.

Facility Rental Information is available. Additional services and programs are offered through the Senior / Community Center such as A.G.E., Meals, and R.O.S.E.S.

The Jack and Patti Salter Community Center, located at 1545 E Lincoln Avenue, also offers enjoyable classes for mature adults. A list of activities at this center can be found in Insight Magazine, a quarterly newsletter that is delivered to every address in Royal Oak. The Salter Center is open Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
